Fractionated laser is a skin resurfacing and re-texturing laser treatment designed to stimulate collagen and elastin production and prevent the signs of ageing. It is an effective treatment for skin rejuvenation as it smooths fine lines and wrinkles, improves the appearance of pigmentation, skin tone, sun damaged skin, and is especially effective in treating stretch marks and acne scarring.
Fractionated Laser creates millions of microchannels in the deeper layers of the dermis and replaces damaged skin with healthy tissue resulting in a younger, rejuvenated complexion.
Aspire Training Clinics use 3 types Laser for Fractionated Laser.

Fractionated Laser can be performed every 4-6 weeks over a course of 3-6 treatments depending on the patient. It is a great skin maintenance treatment.
Deeper lines or scarring may take more sessions to achieve optimal results.

Day 1-2
Most patients will experience a mild sunburn-like sensation that can last 2 to 5 hours post treatment.
Moderate to severe redness, swelling & skin sensitivity depending on the patient. This can last 12-36 hours post treatment.
Day 2-3
The treated area can be sensitive to heat for 2-3 days post treatment.
Avoid unprotected UV/sun exposure and sunburn for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to treatment. It is recommended you avoid unprotected UV exposure throughout the duration of your treatments.
Wear sunscreen, a minimum of SPF30+ (UVA/UVB) daily.
Some exfoliating skincare products can help prepare your skin before the treatment and enhance results. Confirm which products are recommended by your dermal therapist prior to treatment.
Discontinue using prescription Vitamin A or any over the counter high strength retinol products 5 days before your treatment unless advised otherwise. Some of the retinol products include Retrieve ®, Retin A ®, Steva A ®.
If you have a history of herpes/cold sores, you may wish to take antiviral medication prior to treatment to prevent an onset.
Areas treated with wrinkle relaxer or dermal filler must be completely healed before any skin treatment can be performed. This includes redness, swelling, bruising or discomfort.
Avoid waxing the proposed treatment area prior to treatment.
Do not use any skincare products with active ingredients or that are heavily perfumed post treatment. These include retinol, glycolic acids or vitamin C. Use products recommended by your dermal therapist during the healing phase
Wear sunscreen, a minimum of SPF30+ (UVA/UVB) daily and avoid any unprotected UV/sun exposure.
Apply a cool compress to ease erythema (redness) and discomfort. If the heat sensation is painful, similar to a burn, please call the clinic immediately.
Avoid heat-inducing activities for 24-48 hours.
Avoid chlorinated pool water for 24-48 hours.
Do not pick or pull at any areas of the skin as it is healing as this may increase your chances of infection and can result in scarring.
No waxing to the proposed treatment area or anything that may cause trauma to the skin during the healing phase.
