Skin Needling | Treatment | Aspire Training Clinic

Skin needling (also known as micro-needling) is an effective treatment for softening post acne pitted scarring and wrinkles. It is also effective as a general anti-aging maintenance treatment as it enhances collagen and elastin development in dermis.

This treatment is designed to support skin regeneration to help improve skin texture, plump and firm giving an overall more youthful and glowing appearance.

It can also support the healing of acne scars and improve the appearance of stretch marks and surgical scars.

Pre-treatment, a topical anaesthetic is applied so minimal to no discomfort is felt during the treatment.

This treatment is designed to be completed as a course of three, monthly sessions.

  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles;
  • Minimise pores
  • Refines surface texture, smoothing coarse thickened skin
  • Reduce appearance of acne scars;
  • Reduce appearance of stretch marks;
  • Supports synthesis of collagen and elastin for overall rejuvenation.

Day 1 to 2 –Moderate to severe redness, swelling, and skin sensitivity. Possible oozing and weeping may occur immediately after treatment.

Day 2 to 3 – Possible areas of dryness and flaking although, uncommon.

  • Discontinue using prescription vitamin A (Retrieve ®, Retin A®, Steva A®) or high-strength over the counter retinol 5 days before your treatment unless advised otherwise.
  • If you have a history of herpes/cold sores, you may wish to take anti-viral medication prior to treatment, to prevent an onset.
  • Areas treated with muscle relaxants (eg. BOTOX®) or dermal fillers must be completely healed (eg. no swelling, bruising, redness or discomfort) before any skin treatment can be performed.
  • No waxing to the proposed treatment site or anything that may cause trauma to the skin during the healing phase
