Microdermabrasion | Treatment | Aspire Training Clinic




This treatment is a painless, noninvasive, skin-rejuvenation procedure using a combination of a fine abrasive tip or crystals and vacuum suction applied to the skin.  Microdermabrasion is suitable for mild to moderate acne, blackheads, whiteheads, pigmentation, fine lines and in particular post acne scarring. The level of treatment can be adjusted according to skin type and client preference.

This treatment is designed to be completed as a course of three, monthly sessions.

  • Exfoliates the skin it encourages collagen and elastin production, which leads to fewer breakouts in future as well as keep your skin soft and supple.
  • Helps treat areas of hyperpigmentation
  • Reduces the size of enlarged pores
  • Improves appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Helps with the production of collagen and elastin in the skin

Day 1 to 2 –Moderate to severe redness, swelling, and skin sensitivity. Possible oozing and weeping may occur immediately after treatment. 

Day 2 to 3 – Possible areas of dryness and flaking although, uncommon.

  • Avoid unprotected UV (sun) exposure for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to treatment. It is recommended you avoid unprotected UV exposure throughout the duration of your treatments.
  • Wear broad spectrum minimum SPF 30+ (UVB/UVA) daily.
  • The use of exfoliating skincare products recommended by your Dermal Therapist will help prepare the skin for treatments and enhance results.
  • Discontinue using prescription vitamin A (Retrieve ®, Retin A®, Steva A®) or high-strength over the counter retinol 5 days before your treatment unless advised otherwise.
  • If you have a history of herpes/cold sores, you may wish to take anti-viral medication prior to treatment, to prevent an onset.
  • Areas treated with muscle relaxants (eg. BOTOX®) or dermal fillers must be completely healed (eg. no swelling, bruising, redness or discomfort) before any skin treatment can be performed.
  • No waxing to the proposed treatment site or anything that may cause trauma to the skin during the healing phase
  • Do not use any moisturisers or lotions which are highly perfumed or contain active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acids or vitamin C. Please use bland products during the healing phase or until your skin is no longer sensitive. Thereafter please use your prescribed skin care regime.
  • Wear broad spectrum SPF 30+ (UVA/UVB) daily and avoid unprotected UV (sun) exposure.
  • Apply cool compress to ease erythema (redness) and discomfort.
  • Avoid heat-inducing activities for 24-48 hours.
  • Avoid chlorinated pool water for 24-48 hours.
  • Do not pick or pull at any areas of crusting, as this may increase your chances of infection resulting in a scar.
  • Do not have waxing done or anything that may cause trauma to the skin during the healing phase.
